Nose: Ripe red fruit and under spirit cherries with vanilla notes.

Taste: Warm and e mouth-filling, with gentle tannins. Ripe red fruit with a long toasty ending.

Shiny ruby red. Intense aromas of ripe summer fruit, in alcohol marasca cherry, withered flowers, humus, sweet spices, cocoa, clove and vanilla hints. The mouthfeel is round and fresh, the tannins are well balanced and the final is very long.

Winemaking notes

The grapes are all harvested by hand using small crates; once destemmed and pressed, they are transferred in tanks, where through the process of fermentation all the polyphenolic substances contained in the skins are extracted. After the alcoholic fermentation, a malolactic fermentation lowers the acidity of the wine making it smoother. For 12 months the wine is left to rest in in slightly toasted aged French oak barriques, and it then continues a long ageing directly in the bottle. ­

Soil type:Very deep and clayey soil, rich in limestone with a substrate of fossil marls.

Age of the vineyard: 21 years old
